Just wrapped up the most incredible work road trip from Gladstone to Cairns—an adventure that was equal parts business and bliss. This journey took me through some of Queensland’s most iconic coastal towns: Gladstone, Rockhampton, Mackay, Airlie Beach, Townsville, and finally, Cairns. And wow, what a ride it was!
Starting off in Gladstone felt like a warm welcome back. After more than a year away, reconnecting with old friends and lovers brought back waves of nostalgia. The familiar faces, the catch-ups, the comfort of returning to a place with history—it was the perfect way to kick things off.
As Alaska Sinclair and I made our way north, we couldn’t resist stopping at all the quirky tourist spots for photos and laughs. From giant prawns to random roadside signs, we turned every pit stop into a mini photo shoot (and a memory bank of giggles).
Airlie Beach was a standout—somewhere I’d never been, and now somewhere I can’t wait to return to. The energy was magnetic. Picture delicious food, beautiful scenery, and that perfect balance between laid-back and lively. I was genuinely surprised by how much I fell in love with it. Definitely a new favourite.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a work trip without my wonderful suitors. Each town brought new and familiar faces, heartfelt conversations, thoughtful gifts, and memorable connections. There’s something so special about the generosity, warmth, and fun I get to experience on the road. It reminds me why I love what I do.
This trip was so enjoyable, so rich with connection and adventure, that I’ve already locked in round two—I’ll be doing it all again in January. If this past journey is anything to go by, I know it’ll be just as magical.
Here’s to hitting the road, chasing sunshine, and embracing everything that comes with it.
