Melbourne Moments

Melbourne has always felt like where I belong, yet where I would happily get lost in! In an adventure type-way, like wandering down laneways. Finding a hole in the wall bar. Losing track of time over cocktails that are too strong (in a fun way).

This last trip reminded me why I love it so much—even if it was freezing cold! I picked my accommodation completely for the aesthetic (big arch windows, art deco inspired) without thinking about actually staying warm in the middle of winter. Worth it though. It was so me. The space made me want to pour a glass of wine, put on some acoustic background music and talk all night.

I made memories with old friends and new faces. There’s something special about that—being able to catch up like no time has passed, and then turn around and have a brand new conversation with someone I’m only just getting to know.

One night, I ended up at Bar Orlo. It’s an Italian wine bar with candlelight flickering off every glass. The vibe is dark, intimate, a little moody. The kind of place that makes you lean in closer without even realising it. Catching up with a lover I have known for years, yet I feel like I am still getting to know. That’s the beautiful thing about building a steady foundation over a long term, you feel so comfortable and at ease with each other, everything is effortless.

On another night I went to Paris Cat Jazz Cafe. Espresso martinis, wine, pizza, and live jazz. It was warm and close, the music filling every corner, making you want to stay a little too long. I was spoilt with a guitar serenade to end the evening. Feeling truly grateful to have such talented souls in my world. There’s a special place in my heart for people who dedicate their time to a passion they love. It’s truly admirable.

And of course, I had to chase down Melbourne’s best coffee. Got a tip-off for the spot, and went on a mini mission to test it—and a few close runners-up. Wandering the streets with cold hands wrapped around hot takeaway cups felt like the perfect way to see the city.

That’s what I love about Melbourne. It doesn’t need to be flashy. Just good company, good food and drink, a little bit of conversation that goes deeper than the surface.

It’s always hard to leave, but I like knowing I can carry those moments with me.
And if you’re reading this thinking you’d like to make your own memory—one that’s warm, relaxed, maybe even a little bit charged…

Well. You know where to find me.
